The dashboard relies on information stored within a memory device called an Eeprom (Electrically Erasable Programmable Read Only Memory). Unfortunately this device is susceptible to involuntary electrical disturbances caused by the cars electrical system, which in turn can course corruption of the information stored within. Many problems can arise from this - for example, jump starting the car due to a flat battery may cause the digital mileage reading to change (to either a higher or lower value), overwriting the true mileage of the vehicle...other information held within the Eeprom are details covering, calibration of the tachometer (Rev-Counter) that also changes on engine-size /petrol/diesel versions, even door opening options, petrol/temperature gauge settings are also there on many vehicles. This is where our equipment comes in, our software will allow us to correct the reading by way of direct programming to the Eeprom or from the manufactures diagnostic port. 

Please Note: Although there are many valid reasons for changing odometer readings, We will not be held responsible for any illegal misuse of this product.As the mileage readout is only used for service intervals, It is suggested to manufactures that all new vehicles should be fitted with service lights rather than a mileage readout, this in turn would stop the second-hand market utilizing the mileage as a guide to the vehicles resalable value.

Adjusting vehicle odometer readings is not a criminal offence, however selling a vehicle with the intention to defraud is quite a serious one, one that also contravenes the trade description act. If the disclaimer form (which we supply) is correctly filled out, then the operator of this product should be legally protected, providing they are unaware of any illegal activity.

Mileage Recalibration

Q. What is mileage correction?
Mileage correction becomes necessary when the electronic mileage display (either LCD or LED) shows a mileage which you know to be incorrect. That's where we can help by electronically correcting the dashboard to show what you verify to us as being the correct mileage.

Q. Why do I need this service?
There are many reasons why you might need this service. For example, your dashboard might develop an electrical fault, be damaged in a collision or even be vandalized, resulting in an incorrect mileage being shown on your odometer or dashboard. You might therefore purchase either a new or second hand dashboard. What happens? If it's a new one it will have 0 miles on it. If it's a second hand one it could have 200,000 miles on it! Naturally you want it to show the correct mileage and that's where we can help, by electronically placing new mileage information into the dashboard.

Q. Is it legal?
It is not illegal to change the mileage on your own personal vehicle for the above reasons. It IS illegal if you knowingly sell the vehicle with mileage either above or below what is has actually covered. We can take no part in such activity.

Q. Why is our service better than many others?
Our service is better because many of our competitors actually remove the memory chip that contains the mileage information as a matter of course, thereby leaving burn marks, solder marks and other unsightly evidence. Our method does not require this (for 99% of cars) and is therefore undetectable. Furthermore, many of our competitors wipe all the information off the memory chip which contains additional details such as chassis numbers and VIN numbers. Our method leaves that information intact! We also guarantee all our work. 

Q. How do I get it done?

All types of Dashboards can be recalibrated and reprogrammed. Some vehicles can be reprogrammed by using the vehicles own diagnostic socket, others need the dash removing in order to get to the eeprom.

Why would you want to have yours reprogrammed ? Simply like most thing they can and do go faulty.
